I am a regular guy from Kansas who likes to keep things simple...
I’ve always said that if I win the lottery and my alma mater asks for a donation, I’ll have one condition: start teaching a curriculum called “Real Life.”
Those are the kinds of lessons that never made it into the syllabus.
That idea became Get Unassigned: the unofficial curriculum for real life. Short, practical guides to help you make sense of what comes after the assignments end.
I went through college, earned a master's degree and I am building my career. But I still had to research 401(k)s, investing, health benefits, life insurance on my own.
My education mattered. These practical questions mattered, too. I wanted a simpler way to understand the things I was expected to know.
Get Unassigned comes from a simple idea: essential real-life skills and applications that were never assigned in college. Money. Jobs. Networking.
The name is a reminder of that gap, and this is an invitation to close it. We are here to make those lessons easier to find, understand and use.
That's how I like to learn, and that's how I want Get Unassigned to feel. Plain language. Practical examples. Something you can use.
Start with WORK, MONEY and PEOPLE. Universities, fraternal organizations and employers can bring the guides to their groups through organizational licensing.
NO LECTURES. NO FLUFF. JUST USEFUL STUFF.
